meditation yoga


Meditation is a practice that can help your health and wellness. It's so simple yet so difficult at the same time. The purpose of meditation is to clear your mind practice being aware of the present. There are so many benefits to meditation which includes physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual development. Meditation can help you calm your mind, destress and find inner peace. It helps improve your focus, Metabolism, and sleep. Also increases your productivity, creativity, happiness, and help boost the immune system. To start, First, find a quiet place where you would be undisturbed for a period of time. Then sit cross-legged on a cushion or in the chair with your feet flat on the floor. Whatever your sitting make sure that the back is straight but not too tense. Imagine a string from your tail-bone pulling all the way up your spine of your head.

Softly close your eyes breath slowly and deeply. Concentrate on the breath. Your mind should follow the path of breath going in and out of the nose. If you notice yourself drifting into the thoughts simply focus on your breath. Be the observer of your thoughts but don't engage in them. It's a gap between being aware of yourself and at the same time not thinking of it. This awareness is consciousness. So start meditation from 5 minutes a day which can be extended up to 20 minutes a day. Mediation requires a lot of patients and therefore should be practised on a daily basis. Try putting on some music or sounds from nature. If you are not able to cop up or if you are a complete beginner then try to concentrate on music rather than breathing. It is also suggested to incorporate a 'mudra' or hand pose in your meditation. If you want to get more advanced then you can also include 'mantras' in the meditation like 'AUM'.
